Whisper Behind
The Wind
Poems of stillness, resilience, and the spaces between heartbeats.
Craig Talbot
I was born in Butetown, the old Tiger Bay of Cardiff, and grew up surrounded by a rich mix of cultures and communities. When I was about seven, my family moved to the valleys, to a small village with breathtaking scenery, waterfalls, and mountains called Craig y Llyn.
I began writing poetry after losing my mother to a short illness with cancer when I was thirteen. My first two poems were later published in an anthology and a locally released collection titled Voices from the Valley. I have been writing ever since.
Poetry, for me, has always been a way to reflect on life and its deeper meanings. Now, as a father and grandfather, I continue to draw inspiration from nature, from the changing weather, the stillness of the hills, and the quiet strength of wildlife.
I am deeply opposed to war and violence, and I believe no one should have to face poverty or suffering alone. Through my writing, I hope to share empathy, awareness, and a sense of connection with others.
Whisper Behind The Wind
Whispers Behind the Wind is a journey through silence, memory, and renewal. In this collection, Craig Talbot captures the quiet resilience of the human spirit and the healing power of nature. Each poem feels like a conversation between the heart and the landscape ,where the rustle of leaves, the fall of rain, and the breath of wind become reflections of life itself.
From loss and solitude to hope and rediscovery, these verses remind us that even in stillness, there is movement, and within every ending, the beginning of something new.
Gentle yet powerful, accessible yet deeply felt, Whispers Behind the Wind invites readers to pause, listen, and find meaning in the spaces between words. It is poetry for anyone who has ever stood beneath an open sky and felt both small and infinite at once.
“There are moments in life, so quiet
they go unnoticed, until remembered in verse.”

Inside the Collection
Alone in Palestine
The olive trees stand, gnarled and wise,
their branches stretched out, like arms to the skies.
In the market, the colors ignite my desire,
Pomegranates gleam bright, as if set on fire.
After Rain
In the stillness after rain,
a world transformed, serene.
Children chase the droplets down,
their laughter fills the air, so keen.
Tallie
In her laughter echoes the joy of the sea,
she paints on the canvas of life with her heart.
Chasing the butterflies, wild and free,
in her laughter, magic will never depart.
The Coal Dust Sings
The coal dust sings a song of Wales,
a gentle breeze, a friendly tale.
He stands upon the stage so bright,
and fills the air with pure delight.
